Oh, April, my how you are flying by. Here’s what’s been keeping my busy the last few weeks:
Cherishing my baby. Sure, my littlest just turned one, but sometimes I look at him and think, “Oh, he’s still so little.” I look at his pudge, listen to him giggle, and look at his four little snaggled baby teeth. He may be a big baby, but he’s still a baby, and I’m gonna love every little squishy bit of him.
New Girl. Yep, I just discovered this sitcom that started last fall on FOX and stars Zooey Deschanel. While folding laundry, I’ve been watching New Girl episodes on Hulu. It’s freakin’ hilarious. Probably not appropriate to watch while the kids are around. Also, not good to watch before going to sleep. Your laughing will keep you wide awake.
English Muffins. It’s been awhile since we’ve had English muffins up in this piece. Recently, however, I began to reminisce about food we used to make as kids, and I have such the fondest memories of making English muffin pizzas with my mom. So, I bought them for that purpose, then discovered how amazing they are with light cream cheese and the homemade tangerine marmalade I blogged about last week. Delish.
Sarah’s Key. I get in and out of the habit of borrowing books on CD from the local library. I recently picked up Sarah’s Key and have been finding myself coming up with reasons to take a long drive just so I can listen to the book. It was wonderful. I just finished it yesterday, and I miss the characters already. The book is a blended story of a young girl and her Jewish family being rounded up in occupied France and a modern-day journalist uncovering the secrets of the past. It’s lovely, heartbreaking, and a great read/listen.
What books have you loved recently? What about TV shows? Any good recipes we should try?
