FACT: 70% OF CHILDREN WHO ABUSE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ADMIT TO GETTING THEM FROM FAMILY OR FRIENDS.
FACT: EVERY DAY, 3,300 MORE CHILDREN BEGIN EXPERIMENTING WITH PRESCRIPTION DRUGS
FACT: I’ve had a friend confess to stealing drugs from my home.
FACT: I have accidentally taking a sleeping pill when I meant to take an allergy pill.
What can we gleam from all of these facts? We ALL need to lock up our medications. We need to keep our children from accidentally or intentionally using prescription meds. You never think your kid is going to try your anxiety medication. You never think your good friend is going to take your pain medication. I used to keep all of my vitamins and medications right near our glassware. It was right where I could remember to take them with a glass of water. I still keep things like my birth control and ibuprofen there.
But now, I’ve moved all of my prescribed medications like anxiety pills, sleeping pills or pain medications (if using) in a LockMed lock box. Locking up your prescriptions with a LockMed box will give everyone peace of mind. I feel very strongly that if you have prescription medications in your home that you should definitely keep them locked away to make sure they don’t end up in the wrong hands (little or big). Because we feel so strongly about this, LockMed has generously offered to give away one of their products. The winner can choose between a LockMed Box or Travel Bag (keeps medications secure when on the go).
