When’s the last time you were invited to a fashion show? Before you had kids? When you lived in the big city? Never? Yeah, I’m guessing for most of us parents, it’s been awhile. Sure, we may rock the hell out of some sweat pants on the playground, but I gotta be honest: I feel pretty “together” if I manage to get a bra on for the day. Super-great if I manage to pair that with mascara and some non-pajama pants.
Admittedly, my standards have slipped.
Needless to say, I’m in desperate need of a little Fashion 101, and I plan to get some during the 6th Annual Runway for the Ballet coming up on March 23rd. I look forward to the high-fashion runway show presented by Macy’s, interspersed with vignettes from the NC Dance Theater’s popular shows. I’m gonna nosh on the fancy hors d’ouevres and sip on some cocktails. I will be wearing high heels, and yes, even a bra (dress-permitting).
The event will be held at The Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance on North Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte and my favorite anchor, Dion Lim of WCNC will be emceeing the event. Presented in two stylish shows, the 4 p.m. matinee provides fun and fashion for all ages, complete with a pre-show reception including complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Then, at 8 p.m., find your most stylish outfit and celebrate a night out at the evening performance and post-show reception.
My pink trench coat!
Oooh… I want one!
Favorite spring accessory is a pastel or neon scarf to add a touch of spring
Fun!
Is it bad to say that my favorite spring fashion accessory is a beer on the patio? How about if I’m wearing something cute and pastel while I’m doing it? That works.
No, it makes you awesome. 🙂
My new Emerald Green Chewbeads necklace 🙂
