My children are delicious. It’s all I can do to not gobble them up every day. I adore them. I know you feel the same way about yours. Having three boys has completed me in a way I didn’t expect. Let’s be honest, I didn’t know I was broken until they fixed me. And, seeing them together, playing, laughing and occasionally throwing direct punches at each other? Makes. me. melt.
My boys are each three years apart: Graham is 7, Will is 4, and James is 1. I am very happy with the three-year divider; my seven year old is a trooper when it comes to helping me with the littler two. But, when it comes to play, it can sometimes be a challenge to find an activity that unites all of them. Sure – Graham and Will enjoy playing Minecraft side-by-side and James enjoys unplugging their devices. But that usually ends up in tears. For all of us. And James and Will enjoy rolling trucks around on the floor. James could do that all day. Will, however, gets easily distracted. At four, who can blame him?
I was delighted, then, when I discovered that one common denominator among my boys is the thrill they get from listening to music and dancing. Even James, at 1, loves to shake his groove thang. I love to watch.
One of our favorite new dance party albums is Dirty Feet from Bobs & LoLo. Bobs & LoLo is all about making music fun and engaging for children, talking about things they know and love: dirt, nature and play.
So this is probably a video that only their mother could love, but I kinda love James little baby dance moves. And the “Jingle bomb.” Jingle would be the stuffed dog flying through the air. The song in the background is Busy Bee, our family fave.
The album, Dirty Feet is available now for purchase! Once you kids fall in love with Bobs & LoLo, be sure to check out their Facebook page where you can get details about their North America tour.
