Looking for a new book club read? Here are my top books from 2015. Start with the Outlander series if you haven’t yet, and share your other additions!
As I was transitioning from my Nook to my Kindle last weekend, I realized… I read A LOT in 2015. How?
I know. It seems unlikely. But, I find my time. Mostly in the evenings after the kids go to bed. It’s my way to unwind. I also listen to books, which I LOVE. Emptying the dishwasher, putting away clothes, grocery shopping, and tidying are all chores made less awful with a great story to entertain me along the way.
I long ago swore that I would always read actual paper-based books. Then I discovered my Nook. One little device, thousands of books. Plus instant gratification of the next book when I fall in love with a series.
I liked my Nook, until I purchased the Kindle Voyage
With Amazon Prime
Consequently, I’ve been plowing books and I’ve read a lot of awesome ones recently. Thought I’d share a few top picks with y’all, and hope you’ll do the same! Just finished Sharp Objects and need a new book to download. Recommendations anyone?
In no particular order:
Sharp Objects, Gillian Flynn
Code Named Verity, Elizabeth Wein
Before He Finds Her, Michael Kardos
A Town Like Alice, Nevil Shute
Yes Please, Amy Poehler
Furiously Happy, Jenny Lawson
Big Little Lies, Liane Moriarty
Church of Marvels, Leslie Parry
Orphan Train, Christina Baker Kline
The Darkest Hour, Tony Schumacher
The Island, Victoria Hislop
All the Light We Cannot See, Anthony Doerr
The Nightingale, Kristin Hannah
Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins
The Good Girl, Mary Kubica
What Alice Forgot, Liane Moriarty
The Handmaid’s Tale, Margaret Atwood
Secrets of a Charmed Life, Susan Meissner
And last but not least, I finished up the Outlander series. To. Die. For. And now, that theirs an Outlander TV series? Even better! The 8 books in this still-to-be-continued series will take you more than a year to get through (each book boasts near 1,000 pages), but it’s well worth the investment! Start here:
Diana Gabaldon, Outlander

I just put a list up on my site for 2015! And I am thinking about starting The Nightingale today!
You won’t regret it. It was definitely in my top 3 of favorite books for the year. Feel free to add a link to your post here. Would love to check it out.
A friend just read “All The Light We Cannot See” and loved it. Thanks for the list!
If she loved All The Light We Cannot See, definitely recommend The Nightingale or Code Name Verity. Both are fantastic!
