Welcome Spring! Be sure to try these two Strawberries and Cream breakfast recipes for a wholesome start to the day.
In like a lamb, out like a lion? Seems like that’s the way it’s going this year. March started out like a dream and now it’s all brrrr… up in here! Not to fear. Having grown up in the South, I know how it works. One quick cool blast and it’s all flip flops and humidity through September.
So rather than complain about one or two more days of chilly weather, I’m planning on what to do with all of the strawberries I plan on picking with the kids over the next few weeks. Ain’t nothin’ better than trolling the fields looking for juicy red strawberries with my boys. That’s when you know it’s spring!
What do I plan to do with all of these strawberries? So glad you asked. I’ve got a few basic recipes that you’ll wanna whip up STAT. Combining the best flavor combo ever… Strawberries and Cream! And, by cream I mean REAL® Seal vanilla yogurt.
Why the REAL® Seal? Because it provides families with the assurance that they are buying a genuine dairy product, made with milk from cows on U.S. dairy farms. More than 350 brand use the REAL® Seal on more than 10,000 products today!

First up, my favorite Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie! Fresh strawberries, yogurt, oatmeal, and a touch of sweetness and you’ve got breakfast perfection!
- 12 ounces strawberries, frozen (I just place de-stemmed fresh berries in the freezer overnight)
- 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 1 cup REAL Seal vanilla yogurt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Adjust sweetness and water as necessary! Serve.
Next, the newest addition to my breakfast repertoire: Overnight Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal. I like this one served cold, but you could just as easily heat it up for a warm and cozy breakfast treat.
- 3/4 cup REAL Seal milk
- 1/2 cup REAL Seal vanilla yogurt
- 1 1/2 cup fresh sliced strawberries
- 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 1/4 protein powder (optional)
- Place one cup of strawberries and mash thoroughly with a fork. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Refrigerate overnight. Serve cold or microwave 30-60 seconds to enjoy warm.
Still have leftover berries? Here’s a super easy jam recipe that will use up those berries and make those PB&J Sammies awesome all Spring long!
