Charlotte Family Fun: Review & Giveaway of Ten Park Lanes

Sometimes you need to just get out and have fun.  Sometimes you take the kids.  Sometimes you leave the kids behind with a sitter and take out the hubs.  Either way, good times just need to be had.  Agree?  Well, I recently had good times at Ten Park Lanes.  And, I left the kids at home.  I’m guessing you’re not shocked.

A few weeks ago, my husband and another couple went to hang at Ten Park Lanes, formerly George Pappas’ Park Lanes off of Montford Drive.  I know what you’re thinking.  I hadn’t been there in decades either.  But, it’s gotten a makeover, folks.  This place has spunk!  I loved the comfort-food-gone-chic bar menu; the drinks are off the hook. (Can you say moonshine martini? Probably not after two of them.)  And the place was packed.  There were families, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, people of every age, and a crowd varying coolness factor.  All of which makes a place pretty darn cool, if you ask me.

The couple we went with were veggie-tarians, so they rocked it out with the Tomato and Mozz Flatbread Pizza, my husband ordered the Cheesy Tomato Melt, and I got my BBQ on with the Mason Jar Que.  I’m sorry, I just cannot turn down good pulled pork.  Can you blame a girl?

We finished our dinner with a round of moonshine cocktails.  I polled my Facebook friends to see which one I should try.  Everyone had a different answer, so I went with what nobody suggested: something appley and pomegranatey.  I can’t remember what it was called.  But it was lovely.

My crew and I missed out on the bowling on this Ten Park Lanes excursion.  We had another party to hit up. Ya know, ‘cuz we’re cool like that.  But, we plan to go back soon for more moonshine, Southern Que and bowling.  I might even take the kids.  But no moonshine for them.
