A totally pinnable Sparkling Cranberry Ginger Cocktail recipe!
Do you have big family get-togethers during the holidays? We do in our family. There’s Christmas Eve Dinner with one set of family members. There’s the Christmas Morning present-exchange with breakfast casserole. Then another gathering later on Christmas Day for the annual Christmas Dinner.
It’s a lot of eating. A lot of gifting. And, a lot of family. I love my family. But spending that much time with our travelling circus of kids and our family near and far requires something…. boozey. Ya know?
When we host during the holidays, we always like to have a signature drink. It changes year to year, but it’s something that I really get excited about. We don’t often do a lot of cocktail mixing in our house so this annual gathering is a special occasion.
This year, we’re making it extra festive with the colors of Christmas. Enter the Sparking Cranberry Ginger Cocktail.
First Step? Select your choice of 7UP® or Canada Dry Ginger Ale®, depending on whether you are craving a little lemon-lime or a littler ginger in your drink. If you select Canada Dry Ginger Ale for your base, feel free to add a squeeze of lemon to each drink.
Then, add a splash of Cranberry Canada Dry Ginger Ale® to get the splash of red color and for a little bit of sweet.
Not a cranberry fan? I discovered a lot of new-to-me varieties of both 7UP® and Canada Dry Ginger Ale® at Walmart, so go with whatever flavor floats your boat!
Now, pick your booze. I’m adding Prosecco (sparkling wine) to ours, but if you prefer your cocktail with a little more “punch” go for a splash of your favorite vodka. Skip this step if you want to make a kid-friendly drink or have non-drinkers in the crowd!
The holidays call for a little extra, so although I’d normally skip this step, on Christmas, I add a garnish. To round out the Christmas colors, a sprig of mint and a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds make the drink almost too pretty to drink.
