About Katie Harding

There’s a saying “Not my circus, not my monkeys.”  I wish… These days, it’s almost always my circus and my monkeys.  As a wife and mom to three young boys I live in chaos.  Life is a constant balance of work, family and me-time.  My escape is the kitchen.  It’s where I play.  And when I’m there no one complains, because when I cook everyone in the house wins.  (Unless I screw up.  Then we order pizza.  And everyone still wins.)

At Forks and Folly, look for tasty and simple weeknight recipes, ways to engage your family in the cooking process, easy entertaining ideas, and tips to maximize your efforts in the kitchen.  Let’s loosen the apron strings, get a little messy, and make some great food… and memories.

about me katie harding

A little about me:

I was born outside of Chicago, IL, but have been in Charlotte NC for over 30 years.  I love it here.  I ain’t movin.

I swore if I had boys I’d leave ’em on a hillside.  I have three boys.  None got left on a hillside.

I love almost all foods, but I simply do not enjoy pureed meats or pickled things.  I’m sorry.  Please still love me.

One of my first words was “Shree Shrees” a.k.a. french fries.  I freaking love french fries.

I run a lot.  Mostly because I love food and booze. A lot.

I love crossing items off a to-do list.  I’ll even add items already completed to a list just so I can cross them off.

If I had to move to any foreign city, I’d probably move to Munich.

If I could have a second home anywhere in the world, I’d put it in St. Barth.

My spirit animal is a flamingo.  I am particularly fond of the plastic variety.

Touching chalk is one of my least favorite things in the world.  #shudder

Everyday is worth celebrating with champagne.  Cheers!

♥, Katie
