So here’s the deal. Someone, somewhere in the world wide web found my blog and recommended it to Green Works (the plant-based line of Clorox cleaning products), who was looking to do a “greenover” with HGTV designer Carter Oosterhouse for a home in Charlotte. In asking about why I was picked for such a project I battered the PR guy with these questions: “Did you pick me because I’m such a witty writer?”, his answer, “No.” I asked, “Is it because you thought my family was undeniably perfect and movie-star ready?” Answer, “Uh, that wasn’t the first thing that came to mind.” The guy from Green Works came clean. We fit in the box. Live in the South (check), expecting baby (check), and experience allergies (check). Guess it’s the first time I’ve ever been so glad to so neatly fit in a box.
For the past two weeks, I’ve
The goal of this week’s Harding Family Greenover is to convert our guest room into a nursery and to convert our current bonus room into an exercise, play, and guest room. I’m sure it’s going to be a wonderful addition to our home. Both my husband and I are excited to see what eco-friendly ideas they will come up. I’m also sure a cleaning fairy will come and restore my house to some semblance of normalcy once complete. The fact that all of this will be done within a week is a miracle.
I promise to share pictures and web links with you all as I get them, so you can see the progress (or current destruction) as we go. Oh, and ladies? Be sure to check out the the footage of carpenter/designer Carter Oosterhouse, who, I must admit, isn’t terrible to look at. My son also thinks he makes a great playmate at the train table. Anyone wanna play Thomas?

**I have been asked to state that the renovations taken place in my home are being paid for by Green Works. Sadly, Baby #2 would not be getting the complete nursery and playroom overhaul if we had to do this all ourselves. Thank you Green Works and everyone else that is participating in our home renovation!
That is sooo cool Katie!! Congrats and I can’t wait to see the end results. How exciting!!
WOW! Awesome!
How exciting! I love Carter…he’s so hot…err…talented!!! (BTW that would make a great name for Baby #2!)
Soooo…Since you are going green.. does this mean you are going to use cloth diapers now?!
The average child goes through 6,000-10,000 dispoable diapers before they are potty trained. They take 500+ years to break down! Let me know. I’d love to show you the ropes! I love cloth diapering 😀
