Two months after adding a second child to the mix, my family is sick of nutri-grain bars for breakfast and frozen pizza for lunch and dinner. Time to figure out this whole grocery shopping with a child-entourage business. My solution may not be efficient, but it was effective. Plus, there’s now white wine and beer in the fridge, and Graham got his bubbles. Hurray.
Step 1: Find the grocery store with the mini carts. (The Teeter at Rea and Colony has them.)
Step 2: Have your big kid push the groceries in the pint-sized cart.
Step 3: Put your little kid in the big cart with the booze.
Step 4: Repeat process (almost) daily. Those kiddie carts are small! Not to mention it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere when you have two kids!
Best of luck to my fellow moms!
🙂 Does work occasionally and temporarily. Until your kid rams strangers with the cart while the baby is crying. And once the baby can handle a push cart – it is all over with. You will have two mini carts plus a big cart – All three going in different directions ramming strangers and knocking over display cases (sometimes on accident and sometimes on purpose) or they have to take turns with one cart…haha. Glad you got groceries and wine today though and it was painless!!! 🙂 I foresee suckers in your future though.
Step 5: give up and order your groceries online. At least, that’s what happened to me!
so funny! great post. fun blog.
