Ugh. It’s Tuesday, and I still haven’t gotten into the swing of things this week. So much to do, so little time to write. I’m guessing since you have kids, you probably have so much you need to do, so little time to read.
So, instead of putting something together that would entertain online, I thought I’d post a few ways for you to entertain your family offline:
– Get in on the local Farmer’s Markets: I went to the Atherton Mill Market (in South End) on Saturday and fell in love. My favorite picks from the day included fresh squid ink linguini, zephyr squash and South Carolina white peaches. The market is open Tuesdays (pm), Wednesdays (am) and Saturdays (am). On the weekends, they have live music and an indoor children’s craft room. Visit their Facebook page for more info.
– Cool off in $1 movies all summer long: Introduce the kiddos to some older flicks and a little AC at Regal movie theaters this summer. Check your local listing for specific times/locations, but plan on seeing “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Shrek the Third” instead of melting on the playground. Keep in mind, the movie may be $1, but the water is still $5. Not that you should sneak in food and drinks… Click here for the schedule.
– Get your groove on with the whole family: Dinner and ice cream, booze and music. Oh happy me. Check out these spots if that combination sounds as good to you as it does to me.
* Saturdays on Selwyn
* Stonecrest & Blakeney Village Summer Concerts – Every Friday and Saturday night, all summer long from 7-10 pm! Pick the shopping center nearest you, your restaurant of choice, then relax as your kids burn of some pre-bedtime energy. If you end up at Blakeney, be sure to bring lawn chairs and your cooler. For water of course.
Happy Tuesday!
