Cleaning Gets Sexy

Okay. Not that Sexy. But I did happen to find some gadgets that make cleaning more appealing while browsing the aisles of my favorite toy store… The Container Store. It’s hard not to get excited about everything in there. Oh, the drawer organizers, baskets and office supplies! A girl could spend hours ogling and drooling. Here are some of thingamabobs that I got the most giddy about:

After getting some grief about not including blind-dusting on my cleaning schedule and about including ceiling fan dusting on my cleaning schedule, I felt it was kismet when I discovered this set of Unger products.

I actually got excited to de-cobweb the house today. That was only five years overdue!!! This thing reaches the top of my 16-18 ft. ceilings!

Now, to defend myself to those that gave me a hard time about cleaning my ceiling fans (you know who you are), I actually haven’t done it in a long time (in fact, some of them have never been cleaned….gasp!). I’m hoping this ceiling fan thingy will give me the motivation to do the dirty deed.

*Both the cob web duster and ceiling fan duster attach to an extension pole, also available at The Container Store.

This crazy looking guy here on the left is a blind dusting gadget. After attacking only one blind of the many in my house, the thing was filthy. Which means it needs to be washed before I continue on. But that one blind looks great. Or at least it probably does if the light hits it at just that right way so you notice that it’s less dusty than it’s window-mates. Hopefully, if I’m more diligent about blind-dusting in the future it won’t be so bad next time.

Inspired take cleaning up a notch in your house? These toys (and more), are available at the website, here: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/cleaning/dusters.

P.S. I also feel compelled to add that I’ve never felt more “house-wifey” in my life. It just hit me that I’ve just written about how excited I am to clean my house. Wow.

P.P.S. Note to husband: PLEASE DO NOT GIFT ME CLEANING GADGETS FOR ANY HOLIDAY. I ALSO REFUSE TO CLEAN THE HOUSE IN A FRENCH MAID COSTUME. Thank you for your understanding.

P.P.P.S. This is what I really look like when cleaning the house:
