My iPhone, My Apps

I’m *kinda* into my iPhone. It’s a perma-accessory to my hand. Many may find this annoying. I sometimes find it annoying. But it’s my job, so I’ve adapted to it. I hope those that hang out with me understand. If not, well… I’m sorry?

Anywho, I’ve found several apps that I LOVE. Here are a few in case you wanna check them out:

1. Camera+: Rocks my world. Like instagram, it has built in filters to enhance photos. Unlike instagram, you can snap as many pictures as you want, then go back and edit them later. They are also print-quality. Major bonus. Plus, not all of you pictures are shared with your buddies. Those naked pics of the boys in the bathtub should probably be kept to myself. App costs $.99. Additional filters available for purchase but not necessary.

2. Diptic: Ever wonder how to collage your photos? Diptic does this easily. Simply pick a layout and insert photos. Voila. App costs $.99. Expandable layouts available for purchase.

3. iMapMyRun: My GPS watch has been a little funny about charging lately. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t work, I use iMapMyRun to measure my distance while running as well as my pace.

There is a bit of discrepancy, in fact I think iMapMyRun is about 10% generous in terms of distance. So, I shave a little off the total at the end and calculate distance and pace that way. Regardless, considering the app is FREE, it’s well worth it in my book.

4. Meetup: If you’re in the SCP (or any meetup group for that matter), the Meetup App is awesome! Once again, it’s free and will send reminders to you about events and update you when anyone has commented on an event you’re attending our has checked in at an event you are attending. Awesome!

5. Pinterest: On the fence about whether you even need an iPhone? Let me just say…. PINTEREST! This free app allows you to check Pinterest any time! Hello… waiting in the car pool line just got a lot more (p)interesting!

6. OpenTable: Need a reservation? Immediately? OpenTable is awesome (and FREE!). I use it from my computer a lot, but on the occasion that a babysitter lands in our lap, we don’t question it. We run out the door. (With our iPhones of course.)

This app allows you to enter a date and time you want to go out, will search the area you are in and pull up available reservations. Simply click on the restaurant you want and the time you would like to eat. Reservation made. You can also accrue points for reward checks.
