Since committing to getting in the holiday spirit, I’ve been running myself ragged with being merry and bright. And to prove it to you, I’m crossing off my to-do list with pictures. I was about to say “the proof is in the pudding.” But… I’m not sure what that really means. So instead… “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Now, that’s a saying a writer can relate to!
Take the kids to see Santa in coordinated outfits.
Making an insane amount of Christmas cookies with the kids and delivering them to our neighbors.
Holiday Lights Tour: We’re packing up the car with kids in footie pajamas and driving around town to see the best light displays. Hot Cocoa and Chocolate Milk will definitely be involved. So may fast food french fries.
Family Movie Night: Charlie Brown’s Christmas Special viewed from a room lit by a Christmas tree and completed with sleeping bags on the floor and a big ‘ol bowl of popcorn.
Put something big and obnoxious that lights up in the yard.
Craft (yep, craft) salt-dough hand print ornaments for everyone in the family… including the dog.
Gingerbread houses: Assemble and EAT!
Get a Christmas ornament for Will’s First Christmas. I gotta find one for 2011. Oops.
Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra: We’re gonna watch those singing bears in Bank of America’s Founders Hall in our Christmas “finery” and go have a family pizza dinner afterwards at Brixx. A train ride might even be involved. Yeah, we’re going all out.
Scheduled:
Toy Drive Playdate: I’m inviting all of those friends that we’ve not gotten to hang out with since pre-school got into full swing and we’re gonna eat and drink and be freakin’ merry. Oh, and collect toys and food for local family.
