Easy, Healthy, Nut-Free Lunches

Have you been feeling a little less awesome?  I have.  I blame Pinterest.  Pinterest and I have a love-hate relationship.  Love it, because I do find some great recipes and activities to do with my children.  Hate it, because sometimes it makes me feel like the worst. mom. ever.  Ya know?

Like when you compare yourself to those moms that sew their own amazing halloween costumes for their children:

Or when you compare yourself to those moms that make amazing sensory bins and hand made toys for their children to play with:

Exhibit B

Or when you compare yourself to those moms that make art with their children’s food.

Are you one of those moms?  Pat yourself on the back! Seriously.  You’re awesome.  I don’t have the skills to sew my kid’s costumes, I’ll likely never dye my own rice, and I don’t see myself making amazing bento boxes for my kids.  I do, however, try to make sure they get out the door with a healthy lunch in their hands.  Oh, it needs to be nut-free.  Both my kids have nut-free classrooms.

Because getting out of the house in the morning is always a scramble, I have a few grab-and-go options that I rely on for their lunch boxes.   Here are a five easy lunches that you can put together with moments notice.  They may not make me eligible for Mom of the Year, but…. my kids seem to enjoy them just fine.  Here are my Easy, Healthy, Nut-Free Lunches:

five easy lunches

Lunch Box 1: Cucumber, Dried Apricots, Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla, Pretzels

Lunch Box 2: Gold Fish, Strawberries, Turkey Pepperoni, Carrots

Lunch Box 3: Sweet Peppers, Blackberries, Honey & Cream Cheese English Muffin, Pumpkin Seeds and Dried Cranberries

Lunch Box 4: Blueberries, Banana Chips, Green Beans, Ham

Lunch Box 5: Cherry Tomatoes, Honey Graham Crackers, Turkey Hot Dog, Mozzarella Cheese, Mandarin Oranges

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours?  What’s in your kids’ lunch box?

I love the compartments thing in the lunchbox! It’s a great idea to turn the eating experience into something more interactive and fun.

I love them too! Got them as a gift and would love to be able to buy more, if anyone knows where they came from!
