#DotheDownton Tea Party with World Market

If I’m to be honest, I’m a coffee girl.  Through and through.  I drink most of a pot, every morning.  But, I think this may be because all along I’ve been drinking tea wrong.  I’ve been drinking tea alone.  And one should never, ever do this.  Tea parties are way more fun.  And, if once again I’m to be honest, I’ve never heard of a coffee party.  So tea’s go that going for it too.

I mentioned earlier this month that I was going to #DotheDownton Tea Party with World Market.  Yep, all tea lovers and/or Downton Abbey fans unite and put their pinkies up in honor of Season Four ( in 16 days, 23 hours 10 minutes from when I started writing this post), and so that’s exactly what my girlfriends and I did.  It was a lot of fun.  It was a little bit fancy pants.  And it was all good.

I’m about to get in on the British tradition and take every opportunity I can to invite my gal pals over for a little tea.  It’s actually one of the simplest get-togethers I’ve hosted: I pulled out my tea cups and saucers, got some Walker’s shortbread and jams from World Market to serve, made a few quick treats to nibble on and grabbed a few more sweets from World Market, then for the very first time… used a real tea pot at home!  I feel so grown up.

And for the tea drinking?  Well it’s really quite simple… Pinky’s up, folks!

Here’s a recipe that’s super duper easy to make for any get-together, and that I made when we “Did the Downton”:

bacon pinwheels

Bacon Cheddar Pinwheels

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup cheddar, shredded
8 slices of bacon, cooked and drained

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Unfold puff pastry and using a pastry brush, paint it with the egg.  Sprinkle on the egg and the cheese and roll up, pressing the seam lightly to seal.  Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for 20-30 minutes until very firm, but not frozen solid.  Unwrap from plastic and slice approx. 1/4 inch thick.  Place on greased baking sheet and bake 12 – 15 minutes.  Serve warm or at room temperature.

OH, AND DON’T FORGET… You can still enter to WIN BIG with the World Market Downton Abbey Sweepstakes!
