CVS & Pampers Rescues the Manic Parent

My husband desperately wants to get a new puppy.  Yes, we already have a beloved pup.  She’s a wee bit old, and doesn’t keep up with the hubs on his long runs.  And like me, turns up her nose at the thought of camping.  Who wants to sleep in a tent when you can sleep in your own (dog) bed?  So yes… a new pup.

And I’ve said… NO!  No. Why?  Because I’m not potty training more than one creature in this house at a time.  And while we still have one in diapers… no puppy!  I’m pretty darn adamant about this. Having a two and a half year old in diapers is not a dream of mine.

I would have loved to have this kid doing his business on the potty.  But my two and a half year old has a lot in common with a thrashing alligator when it comes to doing something he doesn’t want to do.  And the kid does not want to put potty in the potty. I’d stress, but I don’ think this is a permanent state of diaper-hood.  Surely, he won’t be heading off to college sporting diapers.  But… for the meantime, he’s Pamper-sportin’ toddler.  And, proud of it.  Good thing he’s cute. will diaper Honestly, having been through the whole potty training bit before, having a toddler in diapers isn’t so bad.  Except for the fact that he’s an inconvenient pooper.  Like when I’m out running just a few errands.  And his diaper bag is at home.  Or when it’s bed time and I go to reach for a fresh diaper and there’s none to be had…. cvs1 Admittedly, rather than blaming the pooper we could blame the poor planning of the parents.  Thank God for CVS.  Open 24 hours a day, no matter where or when my toddler needs to “change his shorts” as my husband would say, there’s a Pampers nearby.  Even if it’s 2 am in the morning.  Hey, it’s happened before. Another reason CVS is the place to go for diapers? The selection.  I was dismayed when I was grocery shopping recently and discovered the store I was at didn’t carry size six diapers.  Where they judging us parents with non-potty trained bigger kids?  For shame.

cvs2 Needless to say, I appreciate the availability of Pampers both big and small at the CVS.  And one statement on Pampers – there is no generic diaper in this house.  After several miss-fires and by miss-fires I mean leaky diapers and poop creeping up the back of the diaper, I’m a Pampers mom through and through.  When it comes to poop, I bring in the big guns.

Who hears me on that? If you just raised your hand, enter our giveaway below for a free pack of Pampers diapers and wipes from CVS.  It’s just our way of saying Happy New Year!
