The Easiest Room Makeover Tip + Front Door Fabrics Giveaway!

room makeover tip

The Easiest Room Makeover Tip is at Your Fingertips….

Isn’t it funny how around December 1st you get so darn excited to get Christmas decorations up? To deck the halls and trim the tree?  And then, if you’re like me, on January 1st, you’re aching to take it all down again.  The tree is looking a little brown and crispy, the bows are looking a little limp, and with all of the new toys, things are starting to feel a little cramped.

On January 1st, we make it a habit to de-Christmas our house.  And I don’t get even a wee bit teary about it.  So long, red and green.  Farewell dead tree.  Out of spite, I feel like the tree leaves enough needles around to make us remember it all year ’round anyway.

It feels great to reclaim my home, even if it feels somewhat “empty,” which always inspires me to take on organizing and decorating tasks to get my home right for the New Year.  Last year it inspired the “Organized in 2013” challenge, and this year I’m excited to move forward with the “This New House” series.

As I’ve been moving through the “This New House” series on the blog, I still have some major reveals to showcase and want to give you a sneak peak at the living room, which I am so excited about.  I’ve recently gotten a chance to get familiar with Front Door Fabrics, a Charlotte-based fabric boutique which specializes in window treatments, upholstery and accessories – the perfect place to visit if you’re updating any room.

And, although I have a few more things to complete before the official “This New House” reveal of the Living Room, I wanted to give you a little teaser of the living room to show you what a big difference you can make with this small room makeover tip –

I just love it!  And all we did is change up the throw pillows!

The hardest part was choosing a fabric from the eye-dazzling array offered at Front Door Fabrics.  Racks and racks of rolled fabric arranged by tempting palettes made it hard to pick the ONE that I wanted to go with….

But, with the help of the team at Front Door Fabrics we came up with a great selection.  I love the bold ikat pattern of the throw pillows and did you know that Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2014?  Yes, my living room is that trendy, that I had to run out and get the Color of the Year.  ( I’m kidding, but I am tickled about it.)

More to come on the living room, but as you are thinking about updating your home, I wanted to show you what a big difference throw pillows can make in giving your room a brand new look.
