The Bump {Nest} – Update and #Giveaway

Don’t miss the Bump Nest Pregnancy Pillow Giveaway at the end of the post!

Hiya!  This week marks a MAJOR milestone for me!  20 weeks, baby!  I’m half-way through my last pregnancy.  Yeah, I know.  I said that last time.  But this time I really mean it.  Seriously.

bump nest 4

At this point, I’m feeling TONS better.  Sure, it’d be hard not to feel better considering I was in a low, low place earlier this year.  But, things are turning around.  Spring is here.  I’m not hovering over a toilet.  And I’m finally comfortably in maternity clothes.  Definitely too big for my regular clothes, and now big enough so my maternity stuff isn’t so loose.

Yes, boasting the bump does have it’s perks, and one of them happens to be the elastic waist band.  But the belly, also has  it’s disadvantages.  Mainly, at bedtime.  Sleeping on one’s side is tough for tummy-sleepers such as myself.  Not to mention potty runs every hour.

It’s hard for me to get to sleep not being pregnant.  It’s a process: PJ’s.  Wash face and brush teeth.  Read book. Get out of bed for a glass of wine despite just having brushed my teeth.  Read book.   Turn off lights.  Count sheep.  Read book.  Turn off lights.  Count sheep. Get out of bed and take half an ambien.  Sleep.

bump nest 1Obviously, in pregnancy, that routine has needed to be adjusted.  At least the wine and ambien bit.  Fortunately, I’ve found my substitute.  It took me three pregnancies, but I’m holding on to it for all of it’s worth now: The Bump Nest Pillow.

bump nestPhoto Cred: Bump Nest.  Trust me.  I don’t look that cute when sleeping.  Especially sleeping when pregnant!

I discovered Bump Nest by accident on Zulily.  They happened to have them for sale, and I wasn’t too fond of the idea of pulling out the old lumpy thing that had passed as a pregnancy pillow 6 years ago.

From the minute I pulled this thing out of the box, I knew sleep was no longer going to be a stranger to me.   In fact, I decided the pillow needed to be tested first thing.  I snuggled up on in, and thought, “Darn.  I could do this for awhile.”  Two hours later….

bump nest 3Yeah, it’s that good.  So good, my Bump Nest may not get retired after pregnancy.  I’d say that the hubs would object, except that he cuddles up to it too.  You’d think it was a life raft in the middle of the ocean the way we both latch onto it at night!

In addition to being simply awesome, the fabrics are super-cute (unlike most of the other options on the market).  Plus, you can machine-wash the insert in addition to the cover.  Washing it makes it return back to it’s normal shape, unlike the other pregnancy pillow I owned that would have just gotten lumpier.  In fact, I’m not sure I ever washed it…. another reason it got retired!

Lucky for you, we’re GIVING AWAY a Bump Nest Pillow!  It’s one of my few must-haves for pregnancy, and would also make a perfect gift!  Enter below and let me know: what’s YOUR must-have pregnancy item?

So far my pregnancy must-have has been Gap maternity pants. They are the only ones that fit my style! (And they’re so comfy too!)

My must-have for my first two prgnancies was frozen snickers bars and peanut butter (not together) and baby 3 I stopped eating sugar so just peanut butter. That pillow would have been amazing for all 3 prgnancies, however, because I made a mountain out of ALL the other pillows in the house.

Congratulations on baby #3! I have all girls, which means lots of screaming, crying and hair dressing! If you ever want to see how the other half lives… maybe we can do a ‘mom swap’! They say you don’t know how lucky you are until you walk in another mom’s shoes. lol 😉

Preggie pops and sprite are my essentials right now. I think they’re the only way I’ll get through this morning sickness!
