Confession time: I am terrible – TERRIBLE – at managing my photos. There’s really no excuse, except that it’s gotten so out of hand I don’t even know where to begin. So I don’t. When my phone’s storage was full, I just got one with more memory so I didn’t have to worry about going through, transferring and deleting pics. When my camera runs out of memory, I dump all of the photos somewhere and start over.
They are literally all over the place – on share sites, my blog, shutterfly, my phone, dropbox, and my camera. It’s a hot mess. One that I seriously need to get a handle on… one of these days. I’m an organized person. But when it comes to photos, I admit it. I’m a hoarder.
I bring this up, because I’m participating in the Mom is Here campaign and sweepstakes with the Sprout Channel. The challenge – to stop what you are doing and enjoy the moment with your child. Get out from behind the lens and be in front of the camera. It’s to live in the moments and photos, not just watch them. Show your kids now and in the future that you were there.
No problem, I thought. I’ll nip this in the bud straight off the bat and just grab a photo from one of my stashes across the world wide web. Only, I looked and discovered… I’ve got pics of my kids. I have photos of the pup. I’ve got more than a lifetime’s worth of styled food shots, and I’ve got plenty of pics of the hubs. But me? I’m missing. Mom is apparently NOT here. At least not in the photos.
Fo’ shame.
Therefore, I have an announcement: I’m gonna get in those photos. Bring on the family selfie! If my kid is doing something cute, I’m gonna snuggle up right next to him and take a photo of us. I’m going to ask friends, family, and strangers to take photos with me in the picture. Oh, and I’m going to start wearing a bra and mascara a wee bit more often too. 😉
I’m kicking this mission off today. It’s spring break baby and I’m living it up WITH my children. Here are a few pics from today’s adventures:

Might be almost not possible to encounter well-educated individual on this issue, then again you appear like you know those things you’re raving about! Thanks A Lot.
