I’m a routine person.  I like to know what to expect and make plans.  It’s how I make sure what needs to get done… gets done.  And, it’s also how I make sure I make time for fun!  One of the things that worked its way into the routine that I’ve come to adore is family movie night.  There is nothing else better in the whole wide world than cuddling up on the couch with my boys (all four of them), with a good flick, good food, and the knowledge that the whole weekend lies ahead of us.

It’s really one of my favorite moments of each week. It’s only Tuesday as I write this, but I’m already starting to try and figure out what movie to watch this week.  And, of course I’ve got our movie treats planned out.

Y’all know I’m a popcorn freak.  You also know I don’t often like to make the same thing twice.  So, coming up with riffs on the traditional bowl of popcorn has become one of “my things.”  This week, I think I’ve outdone myself.  My kids agree.

Why? Because, this week I made a popcorn treat with everyone’s favorite Goldfish crackers.  And, I didn’t just come up with one variety.  Oh, no… I’ve got two recipes for Goldfish crackers popcorn mix!  🙂

One is a totally over the top cheesy popcorn blend.  It starts off with air-popped popcorn.  Then, some cheddar Goldfish crackers.  Next, I drizzled olive oil the top and a sprinkle of garlic powder and salt.  Give it a toss, and you’ve got one heckuva snack.

It was nearly impossible to get a photo of this without my kids hands in the bowl!  Guess that’s a good sign: Kid-tested, mom approved!

The second variety I made to satisfy the sweet tooth.  Once again, I popped up some air-popped popcorn.  But, this time I added pretzel Goldfish crackers.  I drizzled some olive oil and then? Maple syrup.  Oh yeah.  To take up a notch, I then added some mini marshmallows and dried cranberries to the mix.  Yup.  It’s awesome.  This recipe is DEFINITELY worth repeating (even for me)!
