Summertime and the livin’s easy…

So true.  (And a great song if I do say so myself.)  It’s true though, isn’t it?  Life is easier in the summer, and I am ready like never before to get this summer started.

Perhaps it’s because Papa has a new pool.  Perhaps it’s because I feel like I missed last summer since I was pregnant.  Perhaps it’s because I worked like a dog all winter.  But regardless, I’m ready.

Let’s do this.

I’m kicking off my summer with friends and family with a Fun in the Sun Party.   With lots of treats, drinks to stay hydrated and fun goody bags, well, let’s just say we’re going to do this first party of the summer right.

Opening up your pool this week?  Here are some tips to pulling off an easy and fun party to celebrate the season.

As is my new favorite habit, my first step was to create an inspiration board on Polyvore.  I wanted happy colors and was inspired by summer citrus.

I was able to get SunnyD from Sam’s Club, which is now available on roll-back.  Now through July, you can find them in the refrigerated end caps (or in the aisle which is where I located them).

And because I’m not one who likes to fuss around in the kitchen when good times are to be had, I picked up some easy treats at the store.  The fun floral cupcakes are nice complement to the table and required no effort on my part. 🙂

Then I scored some ready-made sugar cookies.  Ice them with Orangesicle Icing and top with a slice of orange and sprinkles for festive flair.

No party is complete without goody bags, and our citrus theme continues here.  Complete with SunnyD, bubbles, nail polish in citrus colors and fruity lip balm, your guests won’t soon forget the fun they had!

But let’s not forget the piece de resistance of this party – Enter the Pinneapple Orange Whip!  The perfect combo of SunnyD, pineapple juice, and frozen Cool Whip!

This looks like a super fun party in the sun! Our pool doesn’t open for another couple of weeks, but I’ll be there the day it opens! #client
