Milk the most out of everyday with a these summer family activities!
The last few weeks, I’ve been participating in the #MilkLife Challenge. The Milk Life Program, which represents America’s milk companie encourages families to live life to the fullest potential. To wring out every last drop out of life. A mission that’s easy to get behind.
We’re avid milk drinkers in this house. With three growing boys, we could probably easily clear out the dairy section of a grocery store any given week. At meal time, it’s the only drink option they are given.
Why? Because, I say so.
But also, because milk has 9 essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein in each 8 ounce glass. I want to know that they have the energy they need to bounce through their days, and I know that ensuring they get their milk at meals is critical.
But, taking the #MilkLife challenge goes beyond your glass of milk at meals – it’s about embracing your day to the fullest. May 11 through June 10, Milk Life will be putting an expiration date on the every day, posing 31 Milk Life Challenges . Each challenge only lasts 24 hours – and it’s up to us to embrace the task and get to sharing how we “milk the day” for what it’s worth. Sorry. Had to do that.
I’ve participated in several already and I challenge you do to the same, then be sure to enter the Milk Life Giveaway. The grand prize winner will receive milk for a year. Free milk! FOR. A. YEAR!
Milk Life Challenge #11: Warm Up To Breakfast
My day gets going early (well, at least during the week), and from the minute I wake up until the minute the kids go to bed it’s non-stop insanity! Breakfast is critical to making it through the day! My favorite trick in the book? Making a double-batch of oatmeal pancakes on the weekend with the kids and freezing the extras. It’s a fun activity for us to do together on a Saturday morning, and ensures a hearty (and super easy) breakfast for us on busy week-day mornings!
Milk Life Challenge #17: Milk Movie Night
Y’all know we do up movie night big in this house! For this challenge, we whipped up my favorite Dulce de Leche Popcorn (if you haven’t made it yet – do. It’s durn good!). Along with a tall glass o’ milk, it was the perfect accompaniment for our Friday Night movie – Honey I Shrunk the Kids!
Milk Life Challenge #18: Make Oodles of Doodles
This may well have been my favorite challenge. Usually my Will (age 4) give me scribble art, so imagine my surprise when I got this! A stick-figure person complete with eyes, hands, feet and… mustache!
Milk Life Challenge #19: Stretch Your Workout
After a trip to Italy, this one has gone beyond a one-day challenge and will be a daily addition to my routine until the pasta pounds drop off. Gotta pay to play!
Milk Life Challenge #22: Chalk It Up
Have you made my chalk pops recipe yet? Be sure to make these easy frozen chalk pops then bust out your hopscotch moves like we did the other day!
Milk Life Challenge #26: Show A Latte Love
Yes please! An afternoon pick-me-up for my jet-lagged self! To make this drink, I just chill leftover coffee, pour it over ice, and add a splash of half & half and hazlenut coffee syrup!
Excited to give one of these challenges a go? Be sure to jump in on the fun here!
