Star Wars Rebels Party Ideas

Host a fabulous birthday party or turn a boring rainy day into a day the kids will remember with these Star Wars Rebels party ideas!

It’s true.  I’m a bad party planner.  No matter what, no matter how much I try, birthday parties go something like this:  Three days before a child’s birthday I send out a desperate text to anyone we know with or without kids with an invitation.  To a week night party.  Somewhere.  Maybe our backyard, maybe a pool.  Then we order pizza.  I run to Walmart to find something my kid’s are mildly interested in for a “theme” and order a cake.  It’s pathetic, and one day they’ll call me out for it.

Until then…  🙂

But before you start feeling bad for my boys, let’s just say I make up for it.  With random days of party fun.  Where I throw an improptu party featuring something they really are crazy about.  Like Star Wars Rebels.  With a few Disney Star Wars Rebels-branded American Greetings party supply products that I was able to pick up at Walmart, I was able to host a fantastic shindig that my children LOVED.  It would have been the perfect birthday.  Had I done any planning in advance… at all.

From the American Greetings Star Wars Rebels line, I picked up some adorable face masks, spiral streamers, dessert plates, and then I grabbed goods to make a Star Wars Rebel themed popcorn cake.  ‘Cuz what goes better with a little TV than popcorn?

To make this beauty, air-pop some popcorn and prepare the marshmallow goo like you would rice crispy treats.

We’ll stir in some M&M Crispies and some broken pretzels.

I had my boys sort out the oranges and greens to keep with the color-theme.   They were good workers.

And before you get on about child labor… They were quite satisfied to be paid in the not-needed M&Ms!

Then in a bundt pan COATED with cooking spray we’ll pour the mixture in and let it set.  That’s it.  Stupid easy!

To set the scene, I hung the spiral cut outs from my chandelier.  It made for quite a dramatic centerpiece and took little effort.

Isn’t that super-cute?  And then, my kids couldn’t keep their little grubby hands off those masks.  Too bad my camera skills weren’t on point.  I’ll blame Will.

mask silliness

Just another day.  Another super-fun, awesome, summer day.  Are you planning a child’s birthday or a special last hurrah for the summer?

Be sure to incorporate the budget friendly American Greetings party supplies from Walmart into the event!

OH my gosh I love the Krispie bundt cake! It’s so cute! I made similar Rebels popcorn balls with the same color M&Ms last year! Great minds & all that. . . 🙂 I’m also stoopid similar to you in the party planning department. Last minute is my middle name. #client

Couldn’t you just do this with Rice Krispes- like the treat mix?

How much rice krispies would it be though to substitute the popcorn?

I’d start with 7-8 cups and see if that mixture is wet enough to be sticky but not overly gooey, then add more cereal if necessary.

Hi, for the marshmallows is it 20 oz by weight or volume? My son decided to eat part of the bag so I’m measuring and it says it’s 16oz by volume and the bag is 7 oz by weight.

I’d say weight…. but it’s not one of those super-exact recipes. Go with what you’ve got!
