Have you tried Peanut Powder yet? Low in fat compared to peanut butter and just as protein-packed, Jif Peanut Powder is the perfect addition to these Chocolate Peanut Protein Pancakes. A great way to add protein to your breakfast this new year!
I’m no morning person. I confess and my husband can attest to how hard it is to get me out of bed. But, I’ve realized there’s a direct correlation between when I get out of bed in the morning and how much I get done. Shocking.
With that in mind, I’m trying to improve my morning routine and have a picked up a few pointers to share.
1) For starters: protein in the morning! How many days can you go eating the same breakfast? How many years? About five, as it turns out. I’ve had the same thing for breakfast for the last five years, and guess what?!? It’s getting old. Yup, time to move past the daily Greek yogurt with cereal and berries and find another way to celebrate the morning.
When it comes to breakfast, I have a few requirements: needs to be protein-packed (or else I get hangry before lunch), must have calcium, and certainly needs to be easy to prepare.
Turns out, this is all possible outside of the yogurt bowl. I’ve recently fallen in love with Peanut Powder. Have you tried it yet? Jif has just introduce both a regular peanut powder with just one ingredient – roasted peanuts – and a chocolate peanut powder with the addition of semisweet chocolate and a dash of sugar. Both with 85% less fat that regular peanut butter. It’s the perfect way to add delicious peanut taste to smoothies, baking, and breakfast – with less calories and sugar.
You can find Jif Peanut Powder in the peanut butter section at Walmart.
Y’all have got to try these Chocolate Peanut Protein Pancakes. I whip up my pancakes on the weekends or on slow afternoons and freeze them so I can simply heat them up in the mornings. That is, if I can keep the kids out of ’em!
Actually, may as well make a double batch. Ain’t nothin’ keeping the kids outta the freezer when these are in there! 😉
And the other tips?
2) Get out of bed before you need to. That’s a tough one for me, but it’s a biggie. Giving myself extra time makes it easier to get up. Would you rather get out of bed and be rushed or get out of bed, pour yourself a cup of coffee and take a few minutes to collect yourself?
3) Get dressed! As a work-at-home mom, this is another big one for me. Get out of bed and put on real-people clothes. I feel so much better about myself when I don’t end up wearing PJ’s all day!
4) Program the coffee pot. “The best part of waking up is…..” Coffee in the pot. #darnskippy
5) Make the bed. It’s the very first thing I do every day. I’m much less likely to crawl back into bed if it’s made already. Plus, it feels good to cross an accomplishment off of the to-do list first thing!
Start by mixing the dry ingredients thoroughly, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
Once your griddle is hot, coat it with cooking spray and add 1/3 cup scoops of batter.
Cook two-three minutes per side, and serve with syrup and extra chocolate chips, if desired!

What are your favorite recipes to start the day?
I’ve tried other powdered peanut butters before but haven’t seen this one. I have to look for it the next time I’m at the store and grab a bag. I love the PB chocolate combo and when combined in pancakes, I’m thrilled. Yummmmm.
Hope you love this recipe as much as my fam does! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
