Tips, tricks, activities, food and decor for your upcoming Woodland or Camping Birthday Party!
I don’t know about you, but I get overwhelmed pretty easily with just my own kids. I already feel like I live in a circus. So when it’s birthday time? Hello stress factory. I’ve waffled year-to-year about the amount of time, money and tears I’m willing to invest in my boys’ annual celebration of life. (I mean, I really think it should be a celebration of the mother giving birth, but whatevs… who asked me?)
Anywho, after several years of last minute email invites to family and pizza delivery, I’ve decided that a little more effort on my part might make my little-big man feel special. And boy does that kid deserve to feel special.
In honor of him, it’s time to celebrate… camping style.
It might not be a breeze, but with careful planning and a fairly small invite list, I hope it will be manageable for me and delightful for him. To that end, I’ve broken down the tasks that need to be complete and am tackling them over the course of several days leading up to the big event.
I’ll be sharing several of these ideas with you over the course of the week, and hopefully you’ll be able to use some of these tips, recipes, and printables to pull off an easy and cute camping birthday party of your own.
As one usually does before any event, I started with Pinterest: pinning anything that I thought would be remotely doable, fun or tasty for the party. Let’s admit, most won’t even be attempted, but it gave me inspiration for what could be done.
From there I nailed down a menu, the activities, the invites and the party favors. Since I’m totally Type-A, I took each of those categories and broke them down into actionable lists that could be done in advance. And since I also procrastinate, I started with the easiest, and the most fun… the party favors!
I fell in love with the idea of S’Mores favor bags, but because I didn’t think my mom-friends would love me if I sent their kids home with a treat that required fire, I found a crafty work-around… Honey Maid Dippers. Combined with Chocolate Pudding Pouches and Marshmallow Kabobs, Honey Maid Dippers are perfect for dipping on the go!
Since it’s a slumber party, I also thought I’d send the moms home with a little treat when they come home to pick up their kiddos – belVita Breakfast Sandwiches with Dark Chocolate Crème and coffee K-Cups.
Figured it’s the least I could do after depriving their kids of sleep over night while simultaneously loading them up with sugar. They’re gonna need that 4 hours of nutritious steady energy that belVita Breakfast Sandwiches offer! Breakfast for moms, treats for the kids.
I’ve also been starting off my day with belVita Breaksfast Sandwiches. Delish!
Did I mention all of these items can be found at Walmart? Love me some one-stop-shopping! Be sure to look for the Instant Rebate Coupon on Honey Maid Dippers for .50 off 1 starting 6/6 available in store on product packaging.
Stick around for the rest of the posts this week to get the menu and printables and find more inspiration here! Are you hosting a summer birthday party? What’s your theme?
Oh my goodness, that is the cutest birthday party theme! And those are the cutest party favors! I just love it! -client
