Applesauce and toddlers? Hmmmm…. how much do you enjoy doing laundry? On the other hand, how much do you enjoy hearing you toddler screaming “fafa sosh” at you, until you begrudgingly pull out the tiny tub and allow them to coat themselves in sticky goo, only to ingest just a few of the sugar-filled calories the container has to offer?
Well, neither of those sound good to me. So here are my two favorite suggestions. 1. Run to Harris Teeter and pick up dozens of these GoGo SqueeZ Applesauce thingies. They are awesome. Buy several boxes. Leave at least two boxes behind for me. 2. Grab your favorite applesauce container with the foil lid. Puncture a small hole in the top, cut a straw (preferably a bendy one) in half, and stick the straw in. Voila! Option #1 can get a tad pricey at around $.75 a pop. Option #2 can be inconvenient if you are out and happen to lose the straw. Bottom line… we buy both in bulk. Who needs a screaming toddler?
P.S. The applesauce-foil idea was borrowed from another mom. I don’t remember who passed on this little tip, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. So does Graham.
