Sure, on weekend nights, we are that family that shows up to the neighborhood pizza place at 6 pm and asks for the check by 7:30 so we can get our kid to bed. Cool? Not necessarily, but that’s the way it is. However, we still dine at some great restaurants, and we bring our little guy with us. It’s called brunch, and some of the hippest restaurants in Charlotte are getting in on it.
Weekend brunch comes with a few great perks. Restaurants that would usually sneer at you if you walked in with a child on a Friday night, eagerly greet you when you walk into their restaurant on a late Sunday morning. Plus, you spend a lot less, and you can still feel comfortable drinking cocktails. These are some brunch spots that I enjoy and ones on my must-try list: Customshop (Elizabeth), Crepe Celler (NoDa), LuLu’s & Soul Gastrolounge (Plaza Midwood), Pewter Rose (South End), Dandelion Market (Center City), and Brick Tops, M5, & Cafe Monte (South Park).
