The pregnancy came as a bit of a shock. Yes, I know how the birds and the bees work. But, I’d been using the fertility monitor to not get pregnant. Um, apparently, that’s not a good idea. Not that we weren’t warming up to the idea of having a second child. We just weren’t thinking it would happen so soon. When I told my husband, he exclaimed, “Home run at first bat!” My response? I didn’t know we were out of the batting cage.
From the moment I saw the first positive pregnancy test (I had to take three before I believed it), I’ve been thrown for a bit of a loop. Another kid. Double strollers. Is my car big enough? Is my house big enough? AHHHHH!!!!
But, I’m starting to get excited too. After a brief scare about the possibility of the pregnancy not being “viable” (what a terrible phrase to tell a mom-to-be), I’m now counting my blessings. And maybe, just maybe, it’ll be a girl. OK, let’s be honest, that’s probably never gonna happen. But, a momma can dream. That is, if she can manage to fall asleep between night-time bathroom runs!
congrats, katie!!!
