Best of CMF: Goldilocks and the Perfect Diaper Bag

Best of CMF, Most Popular “Product” Blog, Reposted from January 6, 2011. By the way, I ended up with the Skip Hop Studio Tote and love it.

Diaper Bags. To those of you who are not new moms, this is a topic you can most certainly bypass. But for me, an expecting momma, I’m all ears. With my first baby, I was like Goldilocks when it came to finding a diaper bag. I could never find one that was just right. There wasn’t one big enough that didn’t feel like luggage. I needed pockets and a shoulder strap, but style (or something resembling a hint of style) was a necessity too. I definitely needed at least two pockets specially designed for the upright storage of baby bottles. Oh, and it had to be easily cleaned out (can you say bottle dribble and puff crumbles?). Well, not having found the “Aha” diaper bag with my first baby, let’s just say…. the Diaper Bag Challenge is ON!

I saw a post on a friend’s Facebook wall which has started my most recent obsession. I’ve scouted the world wide web high and low, and thought I’d post what I’ve found to be some pretty good options. The first is my “dream” diaper bag (pathetic, I know), and towards the end of the list (arranged from high to low in price), you’ll find what I’ll probably end up “settling” for. Unlike Goldilocks, I hope to be happy with the first pick I make! At least this time around! 🙂
Ok, even I can admit that at $425, the Kate Spade Splodge Dot Randi Baby Bag is a little bit extravagant. But, the site does offer free shipping! It is cute, though, right?

At $385, this Coach Coated Canvas Baby Bag almost seems like a bargain! Plus, it has a changing pad. Now, how convenient is that?
How come it seems that the more we come down in price, the more things are included? Hmmm…. Regardless, I really dig the Pewter Crushed Quilt Tote from OiOi, for $185.
Next stop, Timi and Leslie. Definitely look around their website if you’re in the market for a diaper bag. I saw a lot of stuff I liked, but the Charlie bag (in light brown) for $149 was my favorite.
And, finally, not to get all practical on you, but I did find a pretty good option in the $100 and under category. The Skip Hop Studio Tote, for $89, pairs style, affordability, and practicality pretty well, if I do say so myself.
