My End of Year To-Do List

With Jon off of work this last week of the year, I’m finding myself with some extra time. This is not something I manage well. I like to book every minute of every day. So here are some things I’m planning on doing so I can avoid that deer-in-headlights look I get at 2pm if there’s nothing to do. And, I’d rather do anything than begin to fold the clothes that make up Mt. Laundry in my living room.

Here are a few things on my to-do list:

Unsubscribe from all of those emails that clog my inbox every morning. I do not need 100 emails from Sur La Table, Carter’s, Children’s Place, Vistaprint and Banana Republic on a daily basis. If I need a coupon code, I’ll look it up. It’s taking about 10 extra minutes every morning, but I’m hoping it’ll save me some hassle in the upcoming year.

Go on my long run for the year. Y’all probably know by now that I’m a runner. And, I’ve had some big accomplishments running-wise for the year. I ran 100 miles in July, and I’ve gotten back down to my goal weight post-baby. But, now it’s time to go on my long-run. It’s something I enjoy doing every year. I’m thinking an 8-miler is in order. Still working up to that half-marathon.

Upload all of my photos from fall and winter onto Shutterfly, then actually order them so I can continue to work on Will’s scrapbook. I would actually like to finish the scrap book while he’s still in diapers. Unlike Graham’s, which I completed when I found out I was pregnant with Will. Nothing like getting knocked up to force you to get your life in order.

Get crafty with leftovers. I’ve got a ton of food in the fridge leftover from various meals this past week. Some of my ideas: Mashed potato cakes with leftover roasted brussels sprouts and broken up spinach balls mixed in, Beef stew with leftover fondue broth, par-cooked fondue veggies and leftover skirt steak, and an Ice cream trifle with broken up holiday cookies in between each layer. Yum.

What do you hope to finish by the end of the year?
