What's Hap-pinning, update 2

Admittedly, I waste a lot of time on Pinterest. Gratefully, it’s also inspired some creativity, organization, and yumminess in my house. Here are some of the ways I’ve incorporated my pins in my life:

Closet organization. Love the shoe-rack/cleaner concept. For roughly seven bucks, I elevated the dangerous chemicals to a child-proof height and at the same time made it so I could find everything I needed.

Arts and Crafts. Okay, first you need to know that I hate arts and crafts. Especially if there’s a risk of paint ending up all over the white carpet in the kitchen. So, you know I had to be pretty desperate for an activity to do with my child when these Christmas crafts came into play.

Chalk wine glasses. Genius and easy to do. I hosted a wine party at my house for forty people. There was no way everyone would have been able to find their own glass had it not been for the chalk concept. Guests enjoyed designing their own labels, I enjoyed that I found super-cheap glasses that didn’t break and didn’t have to risk catching everyone’s winter colds by doing the ol’ wine-glass-swap.

To Do: Simply dip the wine glasses in paint, set on parchment (base down). Remove from parchment paper before they dry and stick (re-setting them often helps). Once slightly matte, turn upside down to dry completely.

Recipes. So I’ve tried a few Pinterest recipes. Some have gone well like oreo truffles and nutella fruit dip (2/3 cup nutella and 1 c. greek yogurt), and some have failed like the weirdly textured Lemon Muddy Buddies. Regardless, I’m excited to have another avenue to find interesting recipes. And, perhaps, we’ll be adding a few healthier treats to the repertoire for the new year! Very excited about the Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Noodle Soup. That’ll be made next week. Not sure how healthy it is, but it’s soup. That’s good for you, right?
