Feel like a 16-year-old again! A Dr. Oetker Pizza Giveaway!

When I was 16, I spent a summer in Germany. My parents threw me on a plane, even though I was quite literally kicking and screaming. But, as soon as I settled in to my European home-away-from-home, I became quite fond of my new digs. I consider this to be the trip that opened my eyes to the world – to a different culture, style, and most importantly to new tastes.

I fell in love with the cuisine in Germany, even the weird sausages, but the one thing I missed like crazy was a good, old-fashioned pizza pie. One of my happiest moments was driving into Frankfurt (the “big city” compared to the village I was staying in) and shopping at H&M then grabbing pizza at none other than Pizza Hut. It makes me laugh now, though, because there’s nothing I wouldn’t give to get a piece of pizza made the way they do in Germany (or Italy, or anywhere in Europe for that matter). Funny how absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Sadly, I won’t be making it to Europe anytime soon (kids may have something to do with that), but I have found a decent substitute for my “authentic” pizza fix – Dr. Oetker frozen pizzas, available at the Teeter! Admittedly, it’s not quite the same. But you can’t blame the pizza entirely. After all, my kitchen lacks the whole cobblestone effect of my German village, and well, nothing tastes quite as good as it did when eaten by a 16-year-old drinking beer (legally) for the first time! But, I stray. Really, you should give it a go. If you’re tired of the old generic frozen pizza, give Dr. Oetker’s a try. I prefer the Funghi (super-cool way to say Mushrooms), and the Spinaci (a.k.a. Spinach); they do have meaty and plain cheese varieties as well.

If you need a little push (kinda like I did when boarding the plane to Germany), how about enter our giveaway? One lucky winner will get a Dr. Oetker prize pack with a tote bag, oven mitts, pizza cutter and two free pizza coupons. Four other entrants will also receive a free pizza coupon. How awesome is that? The winners will be selected on Monday, January 9th by random.org. To have a valid entry, please:

Hey, if it’s good enough for Chuck Norris it’s good enough for me! 🙂
