I’m being more than slightly hypocritical by writing this post about adorable valentines that you can make for your kids. Let me be clear. I have no intention of doing any of these crazy things. By now, you know I’m not cute or crafty, so I ain’t doing cute crafts. I would maybe do that banana one (I mean, a sticker can’t be that hard), but G-man’s school doesn’t celebrate holidays. Which gets me off the hook entirely! Woo hoo!
I do realize, however, that many of you are not so fortunate. And, some of you may willingly subject yourself to using glue guns and glitter. You may even send your children to schools that allow sweets and celebrations. So, thought I’d help y’all out by scouring the web and showing you some of my favorite DIY valentines. Feel free to give my kids one. They’ll certainly appreciate it. Your kid, however, will be getting a Cars valentine with a lollipop courtesy of Rite Aid. Just sayin’.
In no particular order:
Pretty simple looking flower/lollipop combo:
“I’m going bananas over you,” (clearly you should use a Chiquita banana). Although, apples would be another easy choice, “You’re the apple of my eye.” I don’t care what kind of apple you use. 🙂
A good non-candy option would be the, “I’m just write for you,” valentine. Darn, these things can be cheesy!
My personal favorite, however is: “Glad we’re in the same school,” or “I’m hooked on you!” valentines. But, I just happen to love Swedish fish!
