What’s Trending at the Harding House, March Edition

There’s so much “trending” at our house right now, it’s hard to narrow it down. But if I were to pick the top trends of the season, this would be it:

Jellies! Remember these bad boys from the 80’s? Well, I’m rocking them now! I found these at my local Marshall’s and HAD to get them immediately. For only $17, I think I’m gonna have to go back to get another pair in gray tomorrow. Don’t live near my Marshall’s? Don’t fret. I couldn’t find the green ones I purchased online, but I did find them in gray, albeit for $24 instead. Here’s the link.

Gadgets that make my life easier! My new favorite? The Brica Phone Pod which is revolutionizing my stroller runs. I screw this thing onto my double jogger handle, plop in my iPhone, plug in my ear buds and I’m good to go. I can read any tweets/text messages that come my way, listen to my tunes, and easily mute the music in case I need to have a chat with my kids. Yes, I sometimes talk to my kids when they are in the stroller. It might be to tell them to be quiet. 😉

* I also understand that you can attach this to a grocery cart so young ones can play an app while you shop. I however do not share my phone. Perhaps my children get their sharing skills from me.
**The Brica Phone Pod is available on Amazon for $14.99.

Simplifying meal-time. I spend WAY too much time in the kitchen. Some of it is self-inflicted, some of it is the nature of being a wife and a mom. However, I have recently taken up the habit of making double batches whenever I cook. It takes a little extra prep time, but once prepared, I immediately put half of the meals in individual containers before we sit down to eat.

Storing it immediately decreases the chances of having an over-sized dinner, and packing them in individual containers makes it easy for my husband to pop one in his bag for lunches at work and for me to heat something up for lunch.

Toy and wardrobe overhaul. Spring cleaning time! I’m tackling the house room by room, chucking toys, storing winter clothes, bringing out summer clothes and hauling out the outdoor gear. If it’s not being used, it goes bye-bye. Clothes, shoes, linens, toys, it doesn’t matter. It’s time to be ruthless!

How do you decide what stays and what goes when you do spring cleaning? What’s hot at your house for March?
