This Blogger’s Favorite Blogs

I love reading blogs.  I don’t get much of a chance to read books, or even magazines lately.  But, I have time to read a few paragraphs of thoughts in the form of a blog post.  It may not be Shakespeare, but I enjoy reading them, nonetheless.  I’ve compiled quite an impressive list of blogs that I subscribe to via RSS and read in Google Reader.  (Don’t know what I’m talking about? Read up here.)

I tweet out a lot of my favorite posts, but I know a lot of my non-blogger friends aren’t on The Twitter, so I’d thought I’d compile a nice list of blogs that you should check out.  By category, here are some great blogs that you should be reading:
Parenting: Scary Mommy. This woman parents like I do.  And, she makes me laugh about parenting. Whoe doesn’t appreciate that?  I absolutely adored her post on 50 Parenting Lessons She’s Learned the Hard Way.

Funny: Crappy Pictures.  Hilarious blog posts illustrated with… you guessed it… Crappy Pictures.  Need a good chuckle? This is a good place to start.  How did I get hooked on her blog? This post.  After, I had the very similar evening!

Blogging: MomComm.  Here’s a lady that really knows her stuff!  If you’re new to the blogging world or consider yourself well-versed in the trade, chances are you could learn a thing or a thousand things  from Melissa Culbertson.  She rocks my bloggy world.

Food: Big Girls Small Kitchen.  I REALLY had a hard time with this category.  How to pick just one?  I selected BGSK because of how beautiful the site is, how pretty all of the pictures are, how yummy all of the food looks, and how simple everything they share is to prepare.  Love it.  Really love it.

Vegan: Vegan Yack Attack.  Whether it’s vegan week or not at my house, chances are I’m making something from this blog in any given week.  The latest post was for “Chocolate Sriracha Ice Cream.” And, let’s be honest, anyone that can combine those two awesome ingredients and make it sound good is a winner in my book.

Crafts:  See Vanessa Craft.  I actually have had the chance to meet Vanessa.  She’s a fellow Charter Chiquita Mom.  She totally intimidates me with her ability to handle a camera, a sewing machine and a glue gun.  Yep, mad skills.  If you’ve got the crafty bone I’m missing you’ll be totally inspired by her blog.  If you don’t do crafts (I can totally relate), then just browse and see how the other side lives.

Fitness: Shut Up and Run.  This woman is devoted to her running. And she’s got a funny bone.  I love her inspiring posts, and don’t mind her poop and fart jokes.  You encounter a lot when you are out on the open road for hours and hours!

Aww thank you for including me on your list! You are the sweetest, I hope we get to hang out again soon (like at a fun blogging conference)! BTW quit saying you aren’t crafty…I’ve seen what you can do with a pine cone and peanut butter 😉
