One of the easiest kitchen changes is to put magnets on the fridge. They can be dolls, trucks, letters, or anything that will keep a child occupied while you’re doing meal prep. If you have the wall space, hang up a large chalkboard or paint a section of wall or cabinet with chalkboard paint. Give the child a cabinet at their height that’s all their own and fill it with toys, crafts, and play cooking items. For older kids, set up a desk area for writing, drawing, or computer play.
