Graham gets pretty excited to read before bed. So, he’s not doing the reading… yet… but Jon and I do. Over the course of dinner we begin a negotiation. Finish half of your dinner for the first book or chapter, eat three more bites of your veggies for another chapter, and so on. On good days, those little negotiations help him finish dinner.
The only down side really, has been that our reading selection has been in dire need of a refresher. Thankfully, I received a nice little collection of books that encourage early reading through exciting storytelling. These are probably meant to be for children to actually read themselves, but you work with what you got. And those Bob Books, although probably really good for teaching, really suck to read. How many times can you read: Mat Sat. Sam Sat. Sam Sat on Mat. AGHHHH!!!!
Admittedly, we only got 1 1/2 chapters in before momma called it quits, but storytime was way better than our last night’s read, “Hop on Pop.”
For kids young and older, check out these fun books. Not sure which to pick? I’ve been provided with a handy selection guide. Oh, and because I know you were wondering… one lucky reader will be receiving the entire set. Woo hoo!

Horrid Henry!
Can’t wait to read Hailey Twitch and the Wedding Glitch!
I’m pretty sure all of these would make awesome gifts… if I’m going to have to do the reading aloud, I’ll bet the Elliot book would work for my niece

Too cute! Thanks for posting!
The Zombie Vampire. My son likes anything “scary.” 🙂
