I consider myself to be a very clean and organized person. I keep a tidy house and shower frequently. But I do have one embarrassing thing to admit… my car is generally a hot mess. A filthy, trash-filled heap o’ moving metal. My awesome ride that I bought in my early 20’s is now a kid-toting, crumb catching, errand running machine. And it’s definitely showing some wear and tear.
When one of my favorite discount websites offered an inexpensive car detailing service, I had to jump on it. My car needed a face lift. Badly. On the day of service, the poor guy arrived at my house, took one look at my car and said, “Ma’am. This one’s gonna be extra.”
Four hours later the car detailer dude rang my door bell. “Wow. That was one of the worst I’d seen in awhile. But we got her lookin’ good.” My face turned red and I hurriedly ran to my wallet to pull out a large crisp bill as a tip. Much obliged.
Woohoo. My beauty was back. Sure, it’s got some wear, but it’s looking good again. Just one problem… the car seats. And the kids. With their gold fish snack traps and muddy playground feet. I put a few towels under the car seats when I re-installed them, but realized this wasn’t a permanent solution.
Brica to the rescue.
With a great new product line of accessories for the car, I knew Brica would fix my car woes.
I gave my friends at Brica a call and told them I needed to Bricafy My Ride. First up, I needed some Seat Guardians. STAT. Replacing the ridiculous and non-functional towels seen above, the Seat Guardians protect your car upholstery from getting all smooshed from the car seat, and also contains crumbs, liquids (of all sorts, if you get my drift), and general kiddo by-product from getting down in the grooves of car seats.
Next up, the Deluxe Kick Mats. Probably one of the best inventions EVER. Strap these onto the back of each front car seat so that muddy playground feet go on the mats instead of the upholstery of your car. Brilliant. So much easier to clean the mats than a car.
Finally, window shades. My kids (especially the Will-ster) hates, HATES to get sun in his eyes when we’re in the car. I had previously installed the Brica Stretch-to-Fit Sunshades on the windows. The only problem? I kept forgetting they were installed and repeatedly rolled down the windows. That didn’t work out well for anyone. Fortunately, Brica came out with a cool new Smart Shade. This shade installs at the base of the car window. There’s a clip that goes over the top of the glass, and when you roll up and down your window, the shade goes with it. Meaning, my son has sun protection when he wants it and fresh air when he wants it. And we all want toddlers to be happy in the car.
Thank you Brica.
