Southern Breeze Sweet Tea & Baby Bumps + GIVEAWAY!

{This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Southern Breeze Sweet Tea.}

southern breeze sweet tea hero It’s a hot one.  Surprise, surprise.  When you live in the South, and it’s July, guess what… it’s gonna be hot.  Good thing us Southern folks have a few tricks up our sleeves to manage this swampy, relentless heat!  And since I’m 8 months pregnant, I’m really making the most of them!

For one, I’m keeping my house at a nice 68 degrees.  Sure, the hubs and the kids are shivering and wearing extra layers, but I think it’s really darn comfortable.  We’re in a pool as much as possible.  Thank you Papa for making that goal a little bit easier!  (His backyard pool will be finished next week… HURRAY!)  And, we’re keeping hydrated.  Like, really hydrated.  I simply cannot drink enough.  And I’m forcing the boys to drink down lots of fluids after every bought of outdoor play.

Sweet Tea & Baby Bumps!I have a few go-to’s for this… I’m not going to go as far as to call them “pregnancy cravings,” but I have some definite go-to’s when it comes to my drinks of choice right now: Fresca, Grapefruit Seltzer Water, and Iced Tea.  When it comes to the latter, if I’m making it at home, there’s a specific way that it must be done.  And, I’m happy to share that it’s now a little easier thanks to my new find: Southern Breeze Sweet Tea.

We all know that in the South, Iced Sweet Tea is somewhat akin to sugar water; I’m going to go out on a limb and say, I just don’t care for it that sweet.  I do like touch of sweet to my tea, though, and I generally add a bit of sugar substitute to unsweet tea when I order it.  That’s why I think Southern Breeze Sweet Tea is pretty amazing.  Here goes:
boiling1: Boil water.
ready for tea2. Pour water over tea bags & steep. (I spruced it up by throwing in a few lemon slices.  Had ’em on hand, but would be totally great without them too.)
chilling3. Chill.
southern breeze sweet tea4. Serve. (Throw a mint sprig in if you’re growing any this summer!)

No adding sugar; there’s Splenda – IN. THE. TEA. BAGS.  How cool is that?  It sweetens while you steep (which is by far the best way to do it), but it’s zero calorie.  And, not too sweet.  Let’s just say they won me over… and my kids.  They totally crashed my photo shoot!

photo shoot 4Good thing they’re cute. 🙂

I wasn’t born in the South, so I can’t claim birth rights to NC.  But from what I hear, if you are a real Southerner, you always have sweet tea ready to go for drop-in guests, and a little something to go-with.  Not being born here, I have an excuse, but I do have to say… it’s a little easier (and tastier) with the help of Southern Breeze Sweet Tea.

My parents always brewed tea out in the sun. But for them it was always UNsweet. Midwesterners… Ugh.

I remember having my Grandma (who is in Nebraska) tell me she was making sun tea. I thought it was the neatest sounding thing ever (I was maybe 7 or 8) and couldn’t wait to try it. Well, I tried it and spit it out. That’s when I learned to never ask for tea out there. 😉

I have become a sweet tea addict since moving down south. Everyone else in my family thinks of super sweet, but I love it!

I remember growing up in the country with my mom and she would always make her sweet tea instead of buying the sweet tea in jugs. I love sweet tea.

I remember many days sitting on the screened in porch with my grandparents down at the Lake Jackson. Loved talking to them and enjoying the views of the lakes. I wish I could have one more visit with them.

We drink a lot of sweet tea out on the back deck. My husbands family is from the south and they are what started our sweet tea craze. I remember them offering me sweet tea and me refusing until they finally convinced me, it has been a family staple since.

How fun! I’m a new momma to a 7 month old baby girl. My husband and I like to sit on our backyard deck, drinking some iced tea, while watching our baby play in her pack and play. Thanks for the opportunity!

Just about all my family will drink is sweet tea, when we went on vacation to Florida once, we went to TGI Fridays and asked for sweet tea and they didn’t know what we were talking about! To this day we still laugh about it!
