Fresh to Order Charlotte – a new dining option at Carolina Place Mall
Gotta be honest, with time as tight as it is these days, I’m taking short cuts when I can. This means, that we are often grabbing lunch or dinner out as a family while running errands, and hitting up drive thrus more often than I intend to.
I still cook, and we have traditional family dinners (it’s important to me), but in the fast-paced lives of busy families, sometimes we have to compromise.
What I dont’ want to compromise on, however, is serving fresh and healthy food to my children, even though we are out and about.
Just because we are eating on the go, doesn’t mean we have to be shoving our faces with burritos and french fries. Fortunately, there’s a new option: Fresh to Order.
Fresh to Order is now open at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, NC. It’s a refreshing take on favorite dishes ranging in menu options from soup and salad, paninis, and substantial entrees.
I recently had a chance to visit with a good friend, and let’s just say we tried “a few” things. Obviously, in an effort to give knowledgeable feedback. You know, we had to take one for the team.
Let’s just say it wasn’t too painful. 😉
I’m a soup gal, and was delighted to try the range of soups offered by Fresh to Order.
My clear favorite was the Wild Mushroom Soup, but the Lentil Soup was a close second!
I’m a sucker for anything Tuna, so we ordered the Seared Tuna appetizer, which didn’t disappoint, and the Chicken Satay skewers, which rivaled any I’ve had in sit-down restaurants. The dips were awesome.
We were encouraged to try the Salmon Panini as it’s a popular menu item, and I can see why. The bread was awesome, the salmon tasty. But the corn salad it came with? Hands down one of the favorite things I tried.
This is the Blue Cheese Fig Salad that we added Shrimp to. I think we pretty much licked this plate clean.
I think what surprised me most about Fresh to Order was the kids menu. I always try to make healthy decision for myself and my family, but it’s so darn hard to find good options for kids on kids menus, which is a huge gripe of mine. Not here. We sampled the kids salmon which was served with a generous fruit bowl and mixed greens. Admittedly, my kids wouldn’t touch the greens, but the salmon and fruit were winners.
One of the last things we tried was this entree sized Coconut Curry Chicken. I liked it, but after the insane amount of food we had already consumed, probably didn’t get the full attention it deserved. Sure looks pretty, though, doesn’t it?
I loved the great range of menu items available, was super-duper impressed with the kids menu, and was surprised by how fresh the foods were and the great service.
