The Summer Playdate Hack

{This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and TONY’S® Pizza, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #BigPizzeriaTaste http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV}

Looking for an easy button when it comes to playdates? We've got your summer playdate hack right here!

Looking for an easy button when it comes to playdates?  We’ve got your summer playdate hack right here!

Why don’t we have more playdates with our friends?  Well, there are a few reasons.  Time, for one.  I mean, that’s probably the biggest, right?

Then, there’s the food.  Invite all the kids, you’re gonna get the moms (I mean, why invite the kids if you don’t get to invite the moms?).  So that means food.  Lots of it, and well, more time.  Then, there’s the mess.  Or shall we call it the toddler tornado?  You know what I’m talking about.

Yeah, there are a few reasons why playdates sometimes get pushed down on the list for other fun activities.  Like getting teeth pulled and waiting  in car pool.  Just kidding.  That’s way worse.

Well, I’m tired of putting off the kids’ friends and mine.  So, I decided to get to the bottom of this playdate business.  And I did it.  In fact, I so owned this playdate I’m gonna call it a “hack.”  Yup.

First, pick a nice weather day. This is critical to playdate success.  The kids are required to remain outside for the duration of the playdate.  With the exception of potty breaks.  But even then, my boys may not excuse themselves.  I blame their dad.  (Not that he pees in the back yard, per se.)

Second, push the easy-button for the food.  I grabbed a few TONY’S® Pizzas at my last trip to Walmart.  Why?  One, because they are super budget-friendly.  Two, because I really dig the new pizzeria-style crust.  Three, because they are big enough to serve a crowd.

Third, serve the food outside.  This is a biggie folks.  What happens on the deck, stays on the deck.  Or can get washed away!

Fourth, if it’s warm (see #1), turn on the sprinkler.  Kids didn’t bring their swim suits?  Eh, they’re kids.  Let ’em rinse off their pizza-faces, run off some energy and allow you to sit back and relax with your mom friends.

Bonus?  Chances are there will be a slice or two of yummy pizza left!  They’re now 30% larger! 🙂

Fifth, let your friends bring dessert.  One less thing to worry about!  Plus, my friends know how to cook.  Check out those cookies!

Like what you see?  Be sure to SAVE $.75 off of any TWO (2) Tony’s Pizza (14.14 oz. or larger). The Walmart digital coupon is available until 6/30/15. While supplies last!
