No blender milkshakes! This fun Ice Cream Milk recipe uses ice cream cubes to make ordinary summer moments extra special!
I’m loving absolutely every day of this summer. I’m loving sleeping in and waking up with my children cuddled up with me in bed. I’m loving hearing my boys playing Legos and Skylanders together. I’m loving seeing my almost-one-year-old discover the joy of playing in water. I’m loving afternoon swimming and happy hour playdates.
We’re finding joy in the little things this summer. We don’t have crazy complicated bucket lists and we’re not heading off to Disney. We’re living up the small moments. You might find us chalk painting on the driveway. You might find us (and by us, I mean my kids) romping in the sprinkler in their underwear. And you’ll definitely find us making fun and cool treats to enjoy after we play in the sun.
One such treat is something I created by accident. It all started with a container of Cookies & Cream ice cream that got left out too long after a shopping trip. It was still cold, but a little runny. No need to cry over spilled milk (or melted ice cream)!
I poured it into ice cube trays to re-freeze.
Then, after the kids came in from some time outside, we made Cookie Milk!
Just run the ice cube trays quickly under hot water and they slide right out. Add a few cubes to a glass and pour cold milk over it! Dress it up even further with chocolate syrup, caramel or sprinkles! Yum!
Voila – the world’s easiest faux- milkshake. A.K.A Cookie Milk!

Such a fun way to make milkshakes. My kids are allergic to dairy, but I can’t wait to try this method with some soy milk and soy ice cream!
