The perfect family activity with kids! Head out for a fall nature scavenger hunt (FREE nature scavenger hunt printable), then head back in for a the perfect snack: PBJ& Chocolate Dip with Graham Crackers. Yum! #Snackation
My boys have been busy little bees of late. Off to school, soccer practice, swim practice, homework…. playing with friends, playing minecraft, hanging with family. It’s non-stop all. day. long. If I wasn’t worn out from my own goings on, watching them would surely do the trick.
With all of our own activities, we don’t often get to spend much time together, so one afternoon after school, I made time for just that.
Now that the weather is finally cooling down, it’s just so lovely outside. Perfect weather for a good ol’ fashion scavenger hunt – nature style.
While the kids were at school I took some pics of nature and compiled them into a printable that I taped onto paper bags. I had fun myself going around and practicing my photography skills. Kinda proud of that bee if I do say so myself!
Once the kids all returned home from school, I let them loose in the yard to collect the items on the list,or cross off the items that weren’t so collectible (i.e. bugs!).
They had a blast, and I didn’t once hear “When is Kindle time?” A true testament to the fun they had.
If you don’t feel like creating your own scavenger hunt photos, feel free to use mine – you can just print off the PDF here.
Little did they know that once I wore them outside, I had an incredible snack waiting for them. PBJ & Chocolate Dip with Graham Crackers. Yep, I just did that. A combo of the best things ever.
First grab all of your ingredients at Walmart, your “Snackation” destination. I’m LOVING the new Jif Whips – for this recipe I used the Whipped Peanut Butter and Salty Caramel, and it was uh-mazing.
Jif Whips are super easy to spread, so start with a container smoothed into the bottom of a medium bowl.
Next add your favorite Smucker’s Jam flavor. I’m a strawberry gal (and so are my kids), so that’s what we went with! 🙂
Next up… the completion of our perfect snack trifecta! Jif Chocolate Hazlenut spread! I scooped out about a 1/2 cup and warmed it up in the microwave to make it easily pourable on top of my dip.
Add a few chopped up salted peanuts if you like and you’re snack-ready!
