Apparently for Halloween I’m going to be a “crafter.” Sure, normally, I wouldn’t go near paint, glue guns or melting chocolate, but Halloween is making me do wild things this year. Maybe it’s the sugar? Regardless, my family is enjoying this side of me, so here goes!

Next on our list of Halloween activities…. Spooky Cereal Treats! I found the iconic Monster Cereals at Target recently, and had to pick them up. Remember Count Chocula®, Boo Berry® and Franken Berry® cereals from childhood? It’s been decades since I’ve had them, and couldn’t pass up sharing the experience with my children!

Plus, when you purchase all three, you’ll be able to create a killer castle out of the cereal boxes, an exclusive opportunity with the Monster Cereals at Target.  Anything to keep the little ones entertained!

We decided to make cereal treats with them, and then decorate them with candy and icing. It was a sugary, sweet mess, but we’re making memories. 🙂

Start with a bag of mini marshmallows and a half stick of butter in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave for 2-3 minutes to melt.

Give it a stir then mix in one box of Monster Cereal. Stir again, and pour into greased 9×13 baking dish. Press down with a spoon sprayed with cooking spray.

Allow to cool, then slice and insert craft stick or wooden dowel.

Melt one bag of melting chocolate in your color of choice according to package directions.

Smooth chocolate on top (or dip, but I found using a spatula was easier), then decorate with additional cookie icing and candies!

It’s not always beautiful. I don’t even know what happened there. #PinterestFail

I had some decorating wins…. and a few fails. But a lot of fun. And the kids LOVED them! 🙂
