Take the hassle out of photo printing with a desktop photo printer, and then make these fun DIY photo place cards for the holiday table!
When it comes to photos, I’m the absolute worst. You may think you’re the worst. But you’re not. Because I am. I own that title. I legit haven’t printed a photo since my middle child was three months old. That was over four years ago. And to add insult to injury, I’ve taken thousands…. THOUSANDS of photos since.
Remember the days of mailing in film and getting prints back and putting them in albums? Yeah, I think of them fondly, and realize that’s not my reality any more. I also remember those half-hearted attempts at scrapbooking the first year of my childrens’ lives. I made it through Graham’s scrapbook (begrudgingly), through the first three months of Will’s. And James’? Hah.
I have photos on photo storage sites. I have photos on the cloud. I have photos on my PC, I have photos on my camera’s memory card. Where don’t I have photos? In frames! On my walls. Unless they are of Graham. Five years ago. Because that’s the last time I had photos printed.
So, it was with eager enthusiasm (yay, time to fill up those frames!) and a slight dread (holy cow, where do I start?) that I recently purchased the HP Deskjet 3632 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner . Why this printer? Because it prints up to 8 1/2 by 11 photos, it has wireless printing capabilities, it has a relatively small foot print, HP ink can get up to twice the prints of generic ink, and the price was right. I was able to find mine at Walmart.
It was easy to set up. I didn’t even have to ask my husband for help. (Patting myself on the back.)
I’ll eventually go through the past several years of photos and print out some of the highlights to frame and keep. One day. But today, I decided to do something fun. Photo place cards for the holiday table.
These were so easy to make (if I can do it, you most definitely can), and I think they’ll be a hit at the Christmas table this year!
To start, print off the photos you’ll want to use for the place cards, and any others you happen to find along the way. I get distracted very easily! 🙂
Then you’ll want to find gift tags to fix your photos to. I had some silver ones that I thought would go nicely with my china, but I think craft paper or chalkboard tags would be fun too!
Then all you gotta do is trim the photo to fit the tag and modge podge that sucker on there!
Wait for it to dry, then find a festive napkin ring to affix it to. Voila.
Your holiday table just got a lot cuter, with the added bonus that you get to decide who sits next to whom!
Do you have a photo printer? What creative ways do you use your photos? I plan to print out these cute gift tags, next!
Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous photo idea! Not only is it the perfect idea for the holidays, but you can make these photo tags for all different celebrations throughout the year. #client
