My husband and I have a love-hate relationship with spicy food.  When asked, “On a scale of 1 to 5 how hot do you want it?”  We say, “6!”  It’s so hot that you have to keep eating so you don’t feel the pain as acutely.  Know what I’m talking about?

If you love spicy as much as we do, you’ll love this Spicy Beer Battered Fish Burger.  And, if you actually like to taste your food, you can adjust the heat accordingly.  That’s the beauty of cooking at home.

In this recipe, we’re pushing the easy button by using Gorton’s Beer Battered Crispy Fillets.  Just preheat your oven and bake!  No deep-frying.

Gorton’s range of products can handle any need in the reality of daily life, and I love that it makes it easy to introduce seafood to my family’s diet.

Bring a large skillet or griddle to medium high heat.  In a small bowl mix together melted butter and hot sauce.  Brush mixture on the surface of each bun and lay butter-side down on the griddle.  Cook until golden.

Layer each bun with lettuce or spinach, fish fillets, slaw and more hot sauce if desired.  Be sure to have a cold brew within reach to cool your palette down!
