Fuel the Wag with Healthy Tips for Your Dog

This post is sponsored by © Nature’s Recipe, LLC., all opinions are my own.

Just because he’s the most laid back, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get the best!  Here are some great ways to fuel the wag and prioritize the healthy tips for your dog!

I don’t know how some of you do it.  I’ve managed over the course of the last four years to balance (for better or worse) the needs of our three children, running our household, working, and raising our sweet pup.  But now that we’ve increased our family with the addition of another child?  Ohmygod.  Things are CRAZY!

I’m sure we’ll find our stride, but at this point in the game, nothing is assumed.  Everything that must get done, must be written down.  Once someone has done said task, it gets crossed off the list.  If we “want” to do it, it gets added to a calendar.  If we have time to do it, we celebrate.  This ensures that everyone gets where we need to go, and even the least-squeaky wheel gets its oil.

Like Hank.  There was a time, not so long ago, that Hank was our squeakiest wheel.  That’s puppies for you.  But now that we have a spirited four year old that’s taking on the world, a foreign exchange student from Africa (it’s a girl!!), and school starting back up again, Hank is the least dramatic of the bunch.

While he’s the least demanding of our large crew, we also make sure that some of those priorities on our must-do task list include keeping him involved in our family excursions and, well, keeping him fed.  Because #priorities.

Prioritizing Your Pet

Just because he's the most laid back, doesn't mean he shouldn't get the best!  Here are some great ways to fuel the wag and prioritize the healthy tips for your dog!

What’s on his meal ticket?  Nature’s Recipe®. For 35 years, Nature’s Recipe has been crafting tasty, natural pet food with added vitamins, minerals & nutrients.  And, I’m super excited that Nature’s Recipe is available at Walmart, so I can grab it while I’m shopping for our back-to-school supplies and household groceries.

Made with real proteins like lamb, chicken and salmon as the #1 ingredient, you won’t find corn, wheat, soy, poultry by-product meal or artificial flavors and preservatives in this premium dog food.  Nature’s Recipe Grain Free dog food is easy-to-digest, which is key for Hank as he assaults his dog food like it may be his last meal every time.  (We got him one of those slow-feeder maze bowls to help with that and they are great!)

So, getting back to our busy family, we actually have feeding Hank on our must do task list.  Honestly, it’s not because we forget to feed Hank, but because if it gets done, we know (because it gets crossed off the list) and he won’t get fed two breakfasts that day.  Not that he’d complain! 😉

What else is on Hank’s task list?  Making sure that he gets out on daily walks.  He loves running alongside our little biker gang.  (Just make sure that the pavement isn’t too hot for sensitive paws on hot summer days, and you bring plenty of water… for everyone!)

As an integral part of the family, Hank hits the road with us when we travel.  To make sure he’s comfortable en route, we have a dog bed that fits securely between the rows in our minivan and make sure we do plenty of potty breaks.  There are also safety belts for pets.  I’ve totally considered getting one for Hank.

And, we love to take Hank to the water.  This pup loves digging in the sand and jumping the waves with our boys.  Make sure you are aware of the leash laws for the beach you are on, and to bring fresh water for your pup.  You don’t want them trying to rehydrate with saltwater.
