My shopping style has changed over the years. In my early 20’s I shopped at the mall, purchasing from The Limited, Express and Gap. In my mid-20’s, I transitioned to online ordering and nabbed nearly 100% of my career wardrobe from Banana Republic. But then my life changed… yep, babies. And for awhile that meant we were down to a single income.
What’s Hap-ping: August Edition
I started shopping for clothes at Target and Marshall’s and loved saving a few bucks. Now, even though I’m getting back into work-mode I’m moving even one more step to the thrifty side: consignment. But you know what? I’m getting designer duds and for less than when I was shopping Target, and way less than when I was buying regular brands at the mall. Crazy, right?
The only downside to getting away from the mall? Inspiration. I used to love window shopping and soaking up style inspiration from the mannequins, sales clerks and fellow shoppers. Now I get my inspiration from the playground, instagram, and yep, Pinterest.
Before I head to my favorite consignment shops (or even better, a consignment sale), I hit up Pinterest to see what looks I love, before I end up buying that Diane Von Furstenburg dress simply because it’s $65. (True story.)
Here are some of my favorite style pins that I plan to memorize before I go shopping next:
